Does Alspa NET use Unix or Windows Servers?

We offer Windows based Hosting. We do not currently support Linux or Unix Hosting.

What do I get with my account?

We have several plans for you to choose from that are cost effective and more than capable of handling all your domain hosting needs. We don't charge you a setup fee and all accounts come with many valuable featuress, Email account, ASP.NET Support, FTP, Traffic Statistics Software, and more. Can I depend on fast downloading speeds when others access my site?

YES! Our servers our on a 5 way BGP setup with multiple 100Mbs Lines from multiple Tier 1 providers. Giving you incredible speed at all times!

Do you offer secure server space for transferring credit card information?

YES! Our servers are equipped with the latest SSL technology so your customers can safely order your products or services online! Normally, any text sent from your browser is sent as plain text. This means that a hacker could potentially intercept the information sent from your browser and read it. By using the secure server (SSL), the information is encrypted before it is sent. It would be practically impossible for anyone to decrypt it without knowing the key. You DO NOT have to buy a security certificate to enable the secure server - you can use ours for a fee of only $10 a month. We will provide you with the name of the server when your account is activated!

What is a "parked" domain name and how much does it cost?

Parked domains are aliases of other domains. For example, say we have mary.com parked to your main account at steve.com. This would mean that anyone who goes to mary.com would automatically go to steve.com. There is no actual hosting involved with mary.co m. Mary.com merely acts as a nickname to steve.com. Parked domains are available for a one time $10.00 setup fee.

Can I upload pages frequently?

Each account comes with one FTP account. You have full access to your space via FTP 24 hours a day, 7 days a week so you can update your site at your leisure.

What are auto responders and how many do I get?

You can set up auto responders to automatically respond to incoming email. For example, if you had an order form which your customers email to you, you can set up an auto responder to email the customer a confirmation message. They're also known as Info bots . There are many other uses for auto responders / info bots, such as giving information to people who don't have access to the Internet but still have an email account such as Gmail.

What are email aliases and how many can I use?

Email aliases are email addresses that you make up. Any mail sent to these aliases would automatically be forwarded to your existing POP email account or redirected to another third party POP account.

You can have as many email aliases as you want, your mail account is pre-configured to "Catch All" email directed at anyname@yourdomain.com

What about the Traffic Statistical Software?

Traffic analysis software comes pre-installed with every web hosting account! We use Webalizer and it is very easy to access.

If you already have an account with us, you can access your weekly stats by typing http://yourdomain.com/stats/.

What about Technical Support?

We provide web hosting services to many clients and from experience we have found that handling support request via email to be to our clients greatest advantage. We answer all email on the same day it is received - most often in only a few hours.

What kind of technical support do you NOT provide?

We do not provide any technical support relating to XHTML syntax, Java programming, JavaScripting, any 3rd party software, CGI programming, or CGI scripts, nor any other non-network related problems.

What are Alspa Nets DNS server if i want to switch over my hosting account to you?

Our DNS Servers are
Primary: dns1.alspanet.com
Secondary: dns2.alspanet.com

How do I access my Webmail?

Webmail can be access from http://webmail.alspanet.com

How do I access My Email Administration Control Panel?

The Email Control Panel can be access by going to http://mail.alspanet.com. You must log in with your Administration Email Account, that was supplied to you when your account was created.

How do I setup my email client such as Outlook or Entourage to connect to my email account?

The Information you will need to configure your POP/IMAP account is as follows:
Incoming POP/IMAP Server : mail.alspanet.com
Outgoing SMTP Server : mail.alspanet.com
Username : name@domain.com - this must be your full email address.
Password : The password that was set when you created your account.
Outgoing Security : You must check the box that states your outgoing server required authentication, and to use the same settings as your incoming server.
